Jen Hanson, a member of the UofL staff since June of 2017, was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Experience in February of 2019. Prior to being promoted, Hanson served as the Director of Fan Experience & Game Production beginning in June of 2017 when she joined the department from Washington State University.

In her role, Hanson oversees the marketing and creative video departments while also managing the overall gameday production for all UofL home events. Additionally she produces all home Football & Men’s Basketball events while also planning and executing creative content for all UofL special events that include banquets, kickoffs, fan parties and donor events. Hanson also coordinates with Louisville Sports Properties to ensure in-game sponsorship fulfillment at the highest level.

Under her direction, the marketing department has been named a NACMA Marketing Team of the Year Finalist twice, first in 2020 and then again in 2021.

Before joining the Louisville staff, Hanson spent 6 years at Washington State University. She began as a Marketing Coordinator in July of 2011 before being promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing in February of 2013 and was then elevated to Director of Marketing in February of 2015, a role she held until departing in June of 2017. During her time at Washington State she oversaw all marketing aspects of football, men’s & women’s basketball, baseball, women’s soccer, tennis and golf.

Hanson is a 2007 graduate of Georgetown University with a BA in English and then earned her MBA from Southwest Minnesota State University in May of 2011.
