2007-2008: An is one of the Cardinal tennis team's most accomplished students. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society and has made University of Louisville's Dean's List from 2005 - present. A member of U of L's Honors Program, she is also an Honors Scholar. A member of the Athletic Department's Red and Black Athlete Scholar list she was also a Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar (honorable mention in 2007 and second-team member in 2008). She assisted U of L's Dr. Mariusz Ratajczak in his Research Lab in the Fall 2007 through the Spring 2008 where she did biological research studying the expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) and finding a stable transfected rhabdomyosarcoma cell line. Her responsibilities included culturing cell on cell plates, fluorescent activated cell sorting (FACS) analysis, maintaining an up-to-date laboratory notebook, and reporting findings.
2006-2007: An played in one doubles match with Natalie Laszkowsi, winning at No. 3, 8-5, against Virginia Tech. In the fall of 2006, An did not play. Spring 2006: Joined the team late in the season as a walk-on. Filled in at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles as the team experienced injuries. She went 0-3 in singles.
High School: An played No. 1 singles at Elizabethtown High School where she lettered four years. She also lettered for four years in soccer. In tennis, she was a conference runner-up and was a two time National Dean's List member.
Personal: Daughter of Hy Nguyen and Hang Le. Born April 26, 1987. Major is biology.
