2005: Played in 16 matches during her junior season at Louisville, starting three. For the second consecutive season, Podvin scored the first goal of the regular season, tallying what turned out to be the game winner against Butler (8/26). Continuing her knack for big goals, she buried the game-winner at DePaul in the 66th minute. Picked up an assist in win over Seton Hall (10/21), helping teammate Monique Gjini complete the hat trick. Was a member of the AD Honor Roll, Dean's List and was a Red and Black Scholar Athlete.
2004: Started all 20 games and placed second on the team in goals (8) and points (21), which also placed her 10th in C-USA. Tied for the team lead in assists with five. Was fourth in the league in shots with 74. Her first goal as a Cardinal was the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Butler in the season opener (8/27). Notched a pair of goals in the win at Ohio (9/2). Had a goal and two assists in the win over Evansville (9/10). Tallied a goal and an assist in win at Murray (9/14), giving her five goals and three assist in the first five games of the season, with the Cards going 4-1 in that stretch. Again won a 1-0 game with a goal at UC (10/17). Added two more goals against ECU (10/24), and assisted on both goals in the win over the Pirates in the first round of the C-USA tournament. Podvin was on the AD Honor Roll, Dean's List, C-USA Commissioner's list in addition to being named a Dean's and Red and Black Scholar, and earning the C-USA Commissioner's Medal.
2003: Appeared in 21 games and earned 13 starts. Tallied the game winner against Hofstra, a game-tying goal.
High School: Earned three varsity letters at Lakota West High School in soccer and two as a point guard on the basketball team. Selected Offensive Most Valuable Player three times and was the leading scorer for two years. Named to the All-Greater Miami Conference (GMC) and All-Butler County first teams as well as All-Academic team. Holds records for most goals scored in a game, season and career in Lakota West history, as well as conference record for career goals. Member of the South ODP for five years. Her high school team won the state title in 1999. Did not play soccer her senior year.
Personal: Born on 2/26/85 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Tobie Podvin. Is a nursing major at U of L. David Beckham is one of her favorite athletes. Enjoys soccer, sleeping, hanging with friends and watching movies in her spare time. Her dream dinner guests would be J.K. Rowling so Lauren could find out what is up next for Harry Potter, Beckham, and her favorite actress Julia Roberts. Her favorite teams are Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal.
