Prior to U of L: Played one season at the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., for coach Levi Evans and two seasons at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minn., for head coach Cam Stoltz. While playing for Dakota County, Young ranked in the top 20 in the National Junior College Athletic Association in goals against average and earned All-Region honorable mention.
High School: Played three seasons for head coach Dan Floyd at Lakeville South. Earned All-Conference honors and made three state tournament appearances. Also lettered in track and field (two years) and olympic weightlifting (two years).
Personal: Born on June 12, 1989 in St. Louis Park, Minn. Majoring in exercise and sport science. Biggest thrill in sports was playing against a Brazilian youth All-Star team and winning in a shootout. After college, she hopes to work with athletes that have food intolerances/inhibitions and travel. Hobbies and outside interests include baseball, coffee and tea. Favorite movie is Green Street Hooligans and favorite TV shows are Dexter and Lie to Me. Favorite athletes are Briana Scurry and Iker Casillas. Favorite food is watermelon. Favorite teams are Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins. Enjoys listening to hip hop. If she could have dinner with three people, she would choose Dexter Morgan, Harry Potter and Marilyn Monroe.
