Tony Dukes, a former Division I men’s basketball player, is in his first season as a graduate manager with the University of Louisville women’s basketball program.
Dukes’ primary responsibilities include assisting with practice, opponent scouting, game preparation, recording game video, and helping with on-campus recruiting efforts.
A two-time all-region honoree, Dukes played his final two seasons of college basketball at Clayton State. He averaged 10.3 points as a senior, shooting better than 38 percent from 3-point range in both his junior and senior campaigns.
Dukes transferred from USC Upstate, where he made 18 starts at the Division I level and compiled a season-best 19 points on 5-of-5 shooting from 3-point range against Virginia in 2010. He began his collegiate career at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. While there, he was a first team all-region honoree and All-America candidate after ranking second in the region in scoring (19.0 points per game) and shooting 38 percent from 3.
The Morrow, Ga., native also has worked as a player-development coach for more than four years under Dorian Lee and BBALL 101, designing and delivering basketball skill development programs for more than 1,000 amateur and professional athletes.
Dukes graduated in 2013 from Clayton State with a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies. He is pursuing his master’s degree in sport administration and is on track to graduate in the spring of 2017.
