DeeDee Morris recently completed her first season as an assistant coach at the University of Louisville.

In 2024, the Cardinals finished the year with a 27-25 overall record and an 8-16 mark in ACC play, placing 11th in the final league standings. In the midst of a challenging slate with a strength of schedule ranked No. 28 nationally, and despite a series of injuries, the Cardinals posted four wins against top-25 teams including ACC champion and Women's College World Series participant Duke. As a team, Louisville turned 21 double plays, standing third in the conference and seventh on the program's all-time list.

Riley Frizell was named to the 2024 NFCA All-Southeast Region first team and joined teammate Daisy Hess on the All-ACC third team.

Morris came to Louisville after spending eight seasons (2015-23) as an assistant coach at Mount St. Joseph University.

During her time at the Mount, Morris served as the recruiting, infield and hitting coach and helped lead the Lions to new heights, including their first ever Division III NCAA regional championship, NCAA regional win, Super Regional appearance, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament and regular season titles along with a program best 35-7 record in 2019.

Throughout her eight-year stint, the Lions tallied a 201-98-1 record with four straight 30-plus win seasons from 2019-23 (excluding the 2020 COVID year) along with two HCAC regular season titles and conference tournament crowns. Mount St. Joseph also made back-to-back NCAA appearances, winning the Suny Geneseo N.Y. Regional Championship and advancing to the Salisbury, Md. Super Regional in 2022 and posting a runner-up finish in the Decatur, Ill. Regional and closing the season at No. 12 in the NFHCA rankings in 2021.

Most recently, the Lions posted a 31-13 overall record and a runner-up finish in the 2023 HCAC tournament. They ended the campaign at No. 23 in the NFCA rankings while standing among the top five NCAA Division III leaders home runs (42) and No. 21 nationally with a .971 fielding percentage.

With Morris on the coaching staff, Mount St. Joseph produced more than 30 HCAC conference honorees, including the conference pitcher of the year, two freshmen of the year and one HCAC and NCAA regional MVP. The Lions also placed seven student-athletes on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region team and an All-American over the span of eight years.

Along with being part of the HCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2018 and 2019, Morris was also a finalist for the 2020 Geri Ann Glasco Rising Star Award presented by Swivel Sports and One Dream Zero Distraction and was named the 2019 NFCA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year.

The former DeeDee Davis played collegiately at Northern Kentucky University where she was a four-year starter from 2011-14 and helped lead the Norse to a Division II Midwest Regional title in 2012. The all-Great Lakes Valley Conference honoree led her team in batting average in 2013 and 2014 as she helped the Norse made the transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. She served as graduate assistant for a year at Northern Kentucky University where she also completed her playing career.

She was a multi-sport varsity letter winner in softball and basketball at Shelby County High School in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

Morris earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics education in 2014 and a master’s degree in education in 2016 – both from Northern Kentucky. She and her husband, Chris, and daughter, Remi, reside in Shelbyville, Ky.
