University of Louisville head field hockey coach Justine Sowry announced that Britt Broady joined her staff as the Director of Field Hockey Operations.
Broady returned to Louisville where she was an assistant coach from 2003-10. She joins the Cardinals after six years as an assistant coach at Duke where she worked primarily with the defense and goalkeepers. During her time at Duke, Broady helped guide the Blue Devils to two NCAA semifinal appearances including an NCAA runner-up finish in 2013.
Prior to her stint at Duke, Broady spent eight seasons (2003-10) as an assistant coach at the University of Louisville under Pam Bustin. During her time at Louisville, the Cardinals captured five conference titles and made three NCAA appearances. Her responsibilities included recruiting, goalkeeper training and performance, on-field skill and tactics - especially of the defense and penalty corner units - and camp organization. Under her guidance, two Louisville goalkeepers earned NFHCA All-America honors in addition to garnering conference Goalkeeper of the Year recognition.
Before joining the Cardinals, Broady served as an assistant coach for two seasons at American University, helping guide the Eagles to a pair of Patriot League Tournament championships.
The Auburn, Maine native was a four-year starting goalkeeper at Dartmouth College, where she earned All-Ivy League honors in addition to serving as team captain and garnering team MVP accolades. She also ranking second in the Dartmouth records in both season and career goals-against average.In 2001, Broady graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Brain and Psychological Sciences and Biology
In addition to her coaching experience at the collegiate level, Broady is also highly involved with U.S. Field Hockey and served as the Under-21 Junior National Team assistant coach in 2015-16.  While working with the juniors, Broady helped guide USA to a 8th place finish in the 2016 Junior World Cup and a 2nd place finish in the 2016 PanAmerican Games.  She continues to work with USA Field Hockey’s High Performance program.

Broady currently serves as the Regional Development Manager for the Futures program in Region 9 and is the head coach of the Level 1 site in Louisville.  As one of USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development and High Performance coaches, she has coached at several USA camps, including the Junior National Camp, Futures Development Invitational Camp (FDIC) for Futures Elite, High School Open and College Open.Â

Broady is a Level III Certified coach by USA Field Hockey.

Broady is married to former Cardinal baseball student-athlete, Jimmy Broady, and has two daughters.
