Colavecchia on Pomeroy: "At times Ryan can be our most gifted player. But like all talented players he has to play both ways, defending has to be as instinctive as attacking for him. Then he could command a regular starting position. He played some valuable minutes as a freshman and broke into the starting lineup. He has major potential."

In High School: Lettered for St. Xavier High School for three seasons before finishing his final year at Ballard High School...Played for the Tigers' 2001 state runner-up team and 2000 state championship team...Named to the All Tournament Team in 2001...Also played club soccer for Javanon 85... Helped the team to the 2001 Snickers Region II runner-up finish in 2001 and the championship in 2000...Also helped them to four consecutive Kentucky State Championships from 1998-2001.
