January 19, 2026 | Women's Basketball
She averaged 20.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville women's basketball sophomore guard Imari Berry was named ACC Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. Berry was a key cog in the Cardinals 2-0 week with crucial road wins at No. 23/22 Notre Dame and NC State.
Berry averaged a team-best 20.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game over the week while shooting 53.1% (17-32) from the floor and 57.1% (4-7) from behind the arc. Berry helped the Cardinals be the only ACC team to go 2-0 in road games this past week. The Cards are the first team since 2022-23 to win at both Notre Dame and NC State in the same season.
In Sunday's win over NC State, Berry was the star as she scored a career-best 33 points on 14-for-23 shooting, 3-for-5 from three and hit two crucial free throws to send the game into overtime. Berry added a team-high 12 rebounds for her second career double-double to go with three steals and two assists.
No NC State opponent has scored more points at Reynolds Coliseum since Feb. 18, 2018, when Elise Penna scored 34 for Wake Forest. Sunday's win snapped a 16-game home ACC winning streak for the Wolfpack that dated back to the 2023-24 season.
In the win over No. 23/22 Notre Dame, Berry had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals and zero turnovers in 30 minutes of action. The Cardinals only had eight turnovers as a team, the fewest by a Notre Dame opponent since Feb. 27, 2020, a span of 174 games. Thursday's win snapped a 13-game home winning streak for the Irish that dated back to last season.
Up next for Berry and the Cards will be Boston College when they host them at the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday, January 25 at 2 p.m. ET. It will be National Girls & Women in Sport Day and Girl Scout Day at the Yum Center when the Cards host the Eagles this weekend.
