LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Head coach Jeff Walz is proud to announce the promotion of Jonneshia Pineda to Associate Head Coach for the Louisville Cardinals women's basketball team.
Jonneshia has been an integral part of our program's success, bringing relentless energy, elite recruiting ability, and a deep commitment to player development every single day. Her passion for the game and her genuine investment in our student-athletes have helped shape the culture that defines Louisville basketball. This promotion reflects the impact she has made on and off the court.
"Jonneshia has earned this opportunity through her tireless work ethic, leadership, and loyalty to our program," said Walz. "She has a tremendous ability to connect with our players while holding them to the highest standards, and she plays a critical role in everything we do. I'm excited to see her continue to grow in this position and help lead our program as we pursue championships at the highest level."
"I'm incredibly grateful to continue this journey with the Louisville Cardinals women's basketball program," said Pineda. "I'm truly blessed and honored to be promoted to Associate Head Coach. I'm thankful to learn and grow under Jeff Walz. While I'm humbled by this opportunity, I know there's still so much work to be done—and I'm excited to keep building, competing, and chasing more success together."
In her seven seasons at Louisville, she helped lead the Cardinals to a 185-64 record, two Atlantic Coast Conference regular season championships, three trips to the Elite Eight, four Sweet 16's and an appearance in the 2022 Final Four.
