Cards Travel to WKU for Tuesday Night Contest

Louisville will close out a five-game road stand when they face the Hilltoppers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The University of Louisville softball team will travel to Bowling Green to face off against the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky on Tuesday, March 25th. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m. (ET) at WKU Softball Complex at will be broadcast on ESPN+.Â

Louisville comes into the matchup with a 19-12 record (3-6 ACC), hoping to have a bounce-back performance after losing back-to-back games against North Carolina over the weekend. The Cards stole game one of the series on Friday in a 7-4 victory that saw two three-run homers from Char Lorenz and Bri Despines. Louisville was backed behind solid pitching from Alyssa Zabala who gave up only four earned runs and struck out two in four innings. In relief, Sam Booe threw 50 pitches and gave up zero runs, one hit and forced two strikeouts across the final three innings, earning the save. Zabala has led the Cards in pitching this season, earning a 3.42 ERA with a 1.7 WHIP while boasting an 8-4 record and 56 strikeouts across 77.2 innings. Booe has been the steady reliever for Louisville, as she has two saves, a 4-3 record and a 4.41 ERA across 46 innings. Â
