Tajianna Roberts Named ACC Rookie of the Week

This is her fourth Rookie of the Week honor this season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Following another strong week of play, Louisville guard Tajianna Roberts was named ACC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. It is her fourth Rookie of the Week honor this season and she is the first Louisville freshman to earn four in a single season since Shoni Schimmel in 2010-11.
Roberts led the Cardinals in scoring in each of their two games this past week. She averaged 19.5 points per game last week while shooting 14-for-28 (50 percent) from the floor and 6-for-11 from three. The 19.5 points per game was the highest average of any ACC freshman this past week.
In the road win over SMU, Roberts had 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting, a career-best five assists to go with four rebounds and tied a career high with four steals. Roberts hit the game-winning jumper with 56.0 seconds remaining to give the Cardinals their eighth road win of the season. The 22 points was her third 20-point effort this season and the most points scored by an ACC freshman in a game this past week.
At home against No. 3 Notre Dame, Roberts had a team-best 17 points. She shot 4-for-5 from three, her third game this season with four or more made three-pointers. All of her threes came in the first half against the Irish.
Roberts and the Cardinals will be back in action on Thursday as they host ACC newcomer Cal. The Cardinals and Golden Bears will square off from the Yum! Center at 8 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
