Cards Set to Host Sunday Doubleheader

Louisville to battle No. 8 Kentucky and Belmont
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team will host a Sunday doubleheader against in-state rival No. 8 Kentucky and Belmont at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.Â
The Battle of the Bluegrass is slated to begin at noon and the match against the Bruins will begin at 5 p.m. ET.Â
Louisville (4-2) are coming off the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by No. 3 Ohio State where they dropped both matches. The Cards fell to the Buckeyes 0-4 on Saturday morning before dropping the consolation match against Denver 1-4.Â
The Cards earned the doubles point in the match against the Pioneers after the pair of Russell Lokko and Miguel Avendaño won 6-2 on Court 2 and Andre' Steinbach and Enrique Peña 7-5 won on Court 3.Â

Last Meeting: The Wildcats defeated the Cards 6-1 at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex
Scouting the Wildcats: Kentucky is ranked No. 8 in the country by ITA and has two players ranked in the singles poll: Jaden Weekes (39) and Charlelie Cosnet (79). The Wildcats clinched a spot in the ITA Indoor Championships after defeating Santa Clara 4-0 and No. 23 Arizona State 4-0 while hosting ITA Kickoff Weekend. Last season, Kentucky went 27-3 and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals before falling to TCU 0-4.Â
