
Five UofL Employees Elevated to New Roles

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three University of Louisville administrators have been elevated to new roles and the department announced the additions to two directors at UofL, Director of Athletics Josh Heird announced.
Alan Kellogg has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director of Administration and Internal Operations, while Chris May was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services and Operations, and Pat Ivey was promoted to Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Health & Performance.
Heird also announced the additions of Heidi Huebner, who was hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Finance and Business Strategy, and Kevin Addison as the Senior Director of Sports Medicine.

Alan Kellogg, Associate Athletic Director of Administration and Internal Operations
Originally hired as the Chief of Staff to Heird in 2022, Kellogg leads internal operations and communications as well as, human resources and professional development. He oversees department's strategic priorities across all units within the Athletic Department and serves as primary sport administrator for the men's basketball program.
Kellogg's last assignment in the Army was serving as the Chief of Staff at the Army Human Resource Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Kellogg served in Army command positions at every level, with multiple operational and enterprise level assignments. Kellogg participated in three deployments. In 1994, he deployed to Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope. In 2007, he served in the Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq (MNSTC-I). In 2010, he served in the 25th Infantry Division as a part of the Multi-National Division Center-Iraq.

A three-year football letterman and a two-year co-captain for Drake University, Kellogg led the team in receiving as a tight end his sophomore and senior year. Â

A native of Iowa City, IA., Kellogg holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a master's of arts degree from Drake, and a master's of strategic studies from the United States Army War College. He and his wife Andrea have two daughters, Nyah and Emory.Â
Chris May, Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services and Operations
Serving in his 18th year in the athletic department, May guides the academic student services for the men's and women's basketball, business operations for student services unit, and daily functions of Thorntons Academic Center of Excellence. He's also worked with many sports including football, track and field, and swimming and diving.

He has previously served as the academic counselor for men's and women's swimming & diving, track & field, cross country, and women's tennis. Additionally, his experience with the Athletic Department includes internships with Academic Services, where he provided academic support for the football program, and with the Cardinal Athletic Fund, focusing on major gift development.
A Louisville native, May holds both a Bachelor of Arts in political science ('03) and a master's of science in sport administration ('05) from Louisville. May is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and completed the N4A Professional Development Institute - New Practitioner Track in 2009.
Pat Ivey, Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Health & Performance
Hired in 2019, Ivey has orchestrated the department's health care partnership with the University of Louisville Hospital, built out a mental health and performance unit, created a sports science division within Health & Performance, and forged partnerships with a variety of campus and community partners.
He was elected President of the Board of Directors for the collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association in 2023.

Before joining Louisville, Dr. Ivey spent two years at Arkansas State, where he held the position of Assistant Athletics Director of Athletics Performance for one year and Director of Mental Performance in 2017. Prior to that, he served as the Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Performance at Missouri from 2011 to 2015. Dr. Ivey's outstanding work earned him the title of National Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by FootballScoop.com in 2013. From 2016 to 2017, he served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Access and Leadership Development at Missouri.

Dr. Ivey's own athletic background includes being a former Missouri football letterwinner from 1993 to 1995. In 1995, he was recognized as an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete. After completing his undergraduate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management with a focus on nutrition in 1996, he went on to play in the NFL for the Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers for four seasons.
Heidi Huebner, Assistant Athletic Director for Finance and Business Strategy
A key member of the business staff, Huebner has oversight of all finance and business activities for the department. Her main duties include leading the business office staff, managing and preparing the athletics department budget, oversight of the annual EADA/NCAA AUP external reporting and audit, and serving as the liaison between the ULAA and the University on all business matters. She also serves as the Chief Financial Officer at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
Before joining the UofL staff, Huebner served as the Director of Budget and Financial Analyst at the University of Oklahoma from 2021-2024. There she was responsible for the oversight and management of a Top 10 nationally ranked athletics department budget, the monitoring of all OU Foundation cash reserve balances, and also served as key member on the SEC Transition Committee in providing benchmarking and financial analysis. Prior to Oklahoma, Huebner earned her CPA license while working her way up to Audit Senior at Deloitte. Her college athletics experience also includes stops at Tennessee and Wisconsin, as well as the NAIA North Star Athletic Association.Â

Originally from Hortonville, Wisconsin, Huebner went on to play women's basketball at Viterbo University where she served as a team captain for 3 of her 4 years there. She then also earned her Master's of Accountancy from Tennessee.
Kevin Addison as the Senior Director of Sports Medicine
Overseeing the Sports Medicine department, Addison spent seven years at Temple, serving as Director of Athletic Training.
Prior to his stint at Temple, Addison spent seven years as the head athletic trainer at Hampton, he was responsible for the care and prevention of injuries, primarily for the football and men's basketball programs, while also overseeing the assistant athletic training staff. He also developed and implemented a policy and procedures manual for the Sports Medicine department.
Prior to his position at Hampton, Addison served two years (2008-10) as the head athletic trainer at Birmingham Southern. Before that, he was the head athletic trainer at Coker College in Huntsville, S.C. from 2007-08.
Addison earned his Master's Degree in Sports Management from George Washington University ('07) with his bachelor's degree in athletic training coming from the University of South Carolina ('04). He also earned a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Temple in 2021.
