
Men's Golf Faces Big Challenge at Blessings Collegiate Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf program returns to action at the fifth annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods, from Sept. 30-Oct. 2 (Mon.-Wed.) at the Blessings Golf Club. Live television coverage will be on GOLF Channel from 3:30-6:30 pm each day. Admission and parking are free.
The unique format includes both the men's and women's programs.
- Men's and women's teams play the same course at the same time.
- Each school will have all five members of its team playing the same holes together. The best four scores each day count toward the team score.
- There will be 18 holes of competition each day with tee times starting at approximately 9 am each day.
- On Wednesday, a men's team, a women's team, an individual male champion, an individual female champion, a combined team champion and combined individual best-ball champions will be crowned.
The 2024 field includes Arkansas, BYU, Kansas State, Kent State, LSU, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Of note, the Razorbacks will field two sets of teams on both the men's and women's sides. One with five members to count for the team and individual titles and a group of individuals playing together that will be eligible to compete for medalist honors.
The Cardinals are coming off a win at the Bearcat Invitational last week in Loveland, Ohio to secure the third tournament win for head coach Ryan Blagg. Sebastian Moss with Ryan Ford of Cincinnati to tie for the individual win at 6-under par. Moss entered the final day in the lead but shot a 2-over-par 73 to win for the third time in his career. The native of Pearland Texas ended the tournament with a 65-69-73=207 to win for the third time in two seasons.
The Cardinals went wire-to-wire by shooting a 6-under-par 279-283-284=846 to win the event by defeating Cincinnati by six strokes. Kansas finished in third place at 3-over-par and BYU was fourth at 6-over-par. Iowa State and Furman closed by tying for fifth place at 8-over-par.
