Cards Win the Bearcat Invitational Title

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -The University of Louisville men's golf team captured the Bearcat Invitational to secure the third tournament win for head coach Ryan Blagg.
The Cardinals went wire-to-wire by shooting a 6-under-par 279-283-284=846 to win the event by defeating Cincinnati by six strokes. Kansas finished in third place at 3-over-par and BYU was fourth at 6-over-par. Iowa State and Furman closed by tying for fifth place at 8-over-par.
Entering the day with a three-shot lead over the field, the Cardinals shot the final round at even par to secure the team victory.
Sebastian Moss and Ryan Ford of Cincinnati tied for the individual win at 6-under par. Moss entered the final day in the lead but shot a 2-over-par 73 on Tuesday to win for the third time in his career. The native of Pearland Texas ended the tournament with a 65-69-73=207 to win for the third time in two seasons.
Easton Johnson posted his best finish of his UofL career by tying for sixth-place overall. He ended the two-day event at 2-under-par 211 by carding a 2-under 69 on Tuesday. Cooper Claycomb tied for 30th place after he shot a 4-over-par 73-73-71=217.
Mads Roddik tied for 33rd by shooting a 3-over-par 75-69-74=218, while Brady Smith tied for 36th finishing at 6-over par with a 71-77-71=219.Â
The Cardinals return to action on Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the highly competitive Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayettville, Ark.
