
Cortnee Walton Appointed as Director of Operations for Louisville Women’s Basketball

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville Athletics Department is proud to announce that Cortnee Walton has been named the Director of Operations for the Louisville Women's Basketball team. Walton, a distinguished alumna and former standout player for the Cardinals, brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role.
Walton's appointment marks a significant step in her previous role as alumni relations and director of player development with Louisville Women's Basketball. Having served as an integral part of the program both on and off the court, her deep understanding of the team's culture and dynamics makes her an invaluable asset in this leadership position.
"I am incredibly excited and honored to take on the role of Director of Operations," said Walton. "Louisville has always been home to me, and I am thrilled to continue contributing to the success of our program in this new capacity."
During her playing career at Louisville, Walton was known for her leadership, tenacity, and dedication. She played a pivotal role in the team's success, including multiple NCAA tournaments and a Final Four appearance. Walton's commitment to excellence continued after her playing days, as she seamlessly transitioned into various support roles within the athletics department.
In her new position, Walton will oversee the daily operations of the women's basketball program, including team travel, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with various departments within the university. Her firsthand experience as a former player will provide a unique perspective in managing the operational aspects of the team, ensuring that both players and coaches have the resources they need to succeed.
