
Louisville Softball Places Five on CSC Academic All-District Team

Booe, Goff, Hess, Richardson and Zabala earned CSC Academic All-District honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team placed five student-athletes on the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team as announced by the organization today. Sam Booe, Kiley Goff, Daisy Hess, Bailee Richardson and Alyssa Zabala earned the honor.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.Â
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Booe (New Palestine, Ind.) takes home her second straight CSC all-district honor. The junior right-handed pitcher posted a 3-3 record and two saves in 22 appearances with 50 strikeouts in 46.2 innings of work. Â The exercise science major is a two-time NFCA Scholar Athlete and has been named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll twice.

Goff, a senior catcher from West Lafayette, Ind., started all 52 games for the Cardinals this season after transferring from Maryland. The liberal studies major stood second on the team with a .437 on-base percentage and was hit by a pitch 21 times this season, leading the ACC and standing fourth nationally. From behind the dish, she ranked third in the league with 12 runners caught stealing.

Hess (Acworth, Ga.) is a fifth-year senior shortstop and a two-time all-ACC selection. In 2024, she earned third-team honors all-conference honors after leading the team with 37 runs, 12 doubles and a .456 on-base percentage and standing second on the team with a .331 batting average. She put together a team-best 21-game reached base streak. The public health major is an All-ACC Academic team and honor roll selection and an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.

Richardson (Locust Grove, Ga.) a graduate senior takes home her second straight CSC all-district award after earning the honor in 2023 while at Georgia State. This season, she started every game at second or third base and stood second on the team with 30 runs and third with 31 RBIs and six home runs. After earning her bachelor's degree in sport administration in 2023, she is completing her master's in sport administration at UofL. Â

Zabala (Miami, Fla.) led the Cardinals in the circle as a sophomore in 2024 after earning third-team all-ACC honors following her rookie season. The RHP tallied a career-best 18 wins, standing second in the ACC and registered a 3.08 ERA while delivering 97 strikeouts in 161.1 innings of work. Her 2024 resume includes complete game wins against Georgia Tech, as well as Florida State, Arizona and shutout against Michigan. The communications major was named to the All-ACC Academic Team and honor roll and was an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete in 2023.
