
All-Girl Cheer Squad Wins 10th Straight NCA National Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- For the tenth year in a row, the Louisville All-Girl Cheer squad won the national championship, this time by just a little over .02 of a point, at the NDA/NCA College Nationals Competition Saturday at Daytona Beach.
The three-day competition is contested in Daytona Beach, Florida at the Bandshell and Ocean Center. The most competitive dance and cheer teams from around the country gather for the last collegiate cheer and dance competition of the year.
The Large Coed Cheer was seeded third after prelims and finished third in the finals with Weber State taking top honors.
In the Small Coed Cheer category, UofL placed fifth in prelims heading into the finals and finished fourth with Texas Tech posting the highest mark.
The Louisville Group Stunt took fifth place.
In the 14-team Hip Hop Division IA prelims, the Ladybirds were ranked third going into the finals and finished fourth with BYU taking the title.
In Team Performance, the Ladybirds are ranked second going into finals and finished third overall.
In Jazz Division IA prelims, the Ladybirds were 13th going into finals and finished 13th in the finals as well with BYU winning the category.
