
Arenas, Roberts to Compete in 2024 Jordan Brand Classic

The Jordan Brand Classic is one of the top High School All-Star Games in the country
NEW YORK, N.Y. — The 2024 Jordan Brand Classic is set to be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this April and the Cardinals will be well represented. Louisville signees Izela Arenas and Tajianna Roberts were both named to the girls roster and will compete in the game on April 21 in Brooklyn.
Roberts was just named a Naismith Trophy Honorable Mention All-American this past week after her senior season. She competed at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for her senior season after spending her first three seasons at La Jolla Country Day. She is a five-star prospect and is ranked No. 25 overall and the eighth-ranked guard by espnW HoopGurlz. She chose the Cardinals over Kentucky, Duke, California, and Virginia Tech.
This past September, Roberts guided Team South to a championship at the 2023 Nike World Basketball Festival. In her junior season at La Jolla, she led them to their third CIF title in four years and earned a top five national ranking by Max Preps. She averaged 14 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists a game in her junior season with La Jolla.
Arenas, the daughter of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, has played at Sierra Canyon, one of the best high school programs in the country. She is a four-star prospect and is ranked No. 87 overall by espnW HoopGurlz. She chose the Cardinals over Oregon, Arizona and Iowa State among others.
In her senior season at Sierra Canyon, she guided them to a 31-3 record and a trip to the So. Cal. state regional final. This past May, she won the Queen of the Court event, which is a one-on-one showcase with some of the top female basketball players in the country. In her junior season, she led them to a 31-1 record and they were the No. 1 ranked team in the country for the majority of the season.
