October 02, 2024 | General
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville has been selected as the host institution for two upcoming NCAA Championship events between 2026 and 2027.
The NCAA Division I events UofL will serve as host include:
2026 NCAA Women's Field Hockey National Championship at Trager Stadium
2027 NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds at KFC Yum! Center
The KFC Yum! Center has been the home for UofL Basketball for the last 14 seasons. The spectacular arena has previously served as the site for the NCAA Men's Basketball Second and Third Rounds in 2012 and 2015, the NCAA South Regional in 2016, 2019 and 2023, and was the site for the 2012 and the 2024 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship. The 22,000-seat multi-purpose arena includes 71 luxury suites, 62 four- or six-seat premium boxes, over 2,000 side-court club seats and four party suites with a seating capacity of 32 each.
It will be the seventh time that Trager Stadium will serve as the host site for the NCAA Division I Field Hockey National Championship. UofL was previously awarded the 2018 national championship and the event was also staged on the Cardinals' home field in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2017 and 2018. In addition, the NCAA Division II Championship was played at the facility in 2010. Located in Cardinal Park on the UofL campus, Trager Stadium opened in 2000 and was expanded in 2008 with a seating capacity of 2,500.
