LOUISVILLE, Ky. – While the University of Louisville student-athletes continue to perform at a high level on the field, they are also thriving in the classroom, with 561 student-athletes achieving Athletic Director's Honor Roll status in the fall semester. The honor roll recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.0 grade point average for the semester.
UofL's student-athletes combined to produce a 3.364 GPA for the 2023 fall semester, marking the 26th straight semester with a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better.
Red and Black Scholar honors were bestowed upon 462 student-athletes for achieving at least a 3.25 grade point average, while 93 student-athletes finished with a 4.0 GPA.
Women's soccer led the way for Louisville's 23 sports, posting a team GPA of 3.743 during the fall. Men's swimming and diving held the highest team GPA of UofL's men's teams at 3.512.
University of Louisville student-athletes achieved a department-record 93% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest report released in December by the NCAA.
Louisville's 93% GSR beats the school's previous best mark of 92% achieved last year, as well as the 91% recorded in the previous two years before that. The GSR was developed 19 years ago to account for transfers, including mid-year enrollees, into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing.
The most recent report accounts for freshmen who entered in the 2016-17 academic year. Louisville's GSR has risen by nearly 30% since reporting began 19 years ago.
UofL had 17 programs achieve a GSR of 90 or higher December's report, while seven programs – men's basketball, women's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, field hockey, women's soccer and volleyball – recorded a perfect 100 mark.
