No. 15 Cardinals Host Wake Forest on Sunday

The Cardinals are 8-0 at home this season and riding a four-game winning streak
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 15 Louisville women's basketball team (14-2, 3-0 ACC) returns home for a quick weekend matinee before heading back on the road again next week. The Cardinals welcome the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-12, 0-4 ACC) to the KFC Yum! Center for a Sunday afternoon matchup. The Cardinals are 3-0 in conference play and 8-0 at home this season as they prepare for the Demon Deacons. The Cards and Demon Deacons will face off at 2 p.m. ET and the game will be aired nationally on the ACC Network.
Louisville is coming off a 74-44 road win over the Pitt Panthers this past Thursday. It was the second game in a row the Cards held their opponent below 50 points. It was also the third time in their last four games that Louisville has held their opponent below 60 points dating back to the Dec. 20 matchup against No. 23 Washington. It was the second road win in conference play this season for the Cardinals after they ended Miami's 17-game home winning streak on Dec. 31 with their 77-72 win.
In the road win over the Panthers, Sydney Taylor led the way with 13 points and tied season highs with three made three-pointers and four assists. Olivia Cochran scored in double figures for the eighth-straight game with 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting. She has shot 50 percent or better from the floor in each of the last eight games. On the season, Cochran has shot 50 percent or better in 12 of the 16 games. Kiki Jefferson continued her strong play of late with 10 points in the win over the Panthers. Jefferson has scored 10 points or more in 10 of her last 11 games and leads the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game this season.

Wake Forest comes into Sunday's matchup with a 4-12 overall record and an 0-4 record in ACC play. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 77-56 defeat at home to Syracuse this past Thursday. Wake Forest has one common opponent of the Cardinals during non-conference play in NC A&T. The Demon Deacons dropped the Nov. 15 contest to the Aggies 56-51 before NC A&T traveled to Louisville and the Cardinals came away with an 80-40 win on Dec. 3. Wake has faced Miami in conference play so far and fell to the Hurricanes 77-44 on Jan. 7.
Series History - This will be the 12th meeting all-time between the two schools and the Cardinals are 10-1 all-time against the Demon Deacons. The Cardinals raced out to a big first quarter lead as they advanced to the ACC Semifinals for the eighth time in program history. Mykasa Robinson had another all-around game with a team-high 10 assists, eight rebounds, four points and three steals. She has led the Cardinals in assists in each of the last nine games and had eight rebounds or more in four-straight games. Chrislyn Carr scored 16 points and Olivia Cochran was also in double figures with 11 points.
