- Jeff Brohm wins his coaching debut at Louisville.
- Louisville wins its first game vs. Georgia Tech in three tries, including 1-1 in Atlanta.
- Louisville improves to 5-5 in conference openers since joining the ACC.
- The Cards improve to 57-42-6 in season openers.
- Louisville climbs above .500 both in neutral site games, now 16-15-1, and in ACC games, now 38-37.
- Louisville's come-from-behind victory is only its fourth win in 138 tries when trailing by 15 or more points at halftime.

- Travelstead is the first Louisville player since Chris Philpott in 2011 to handle both punting and kicking duties in a game.
- Travelstead tied the fifth highest total for kick scoring in a game at Louisville with 15 points.
- DL Dezmond Tell was disruptive on defense with three solo tackles, including a sack and a forced fumble which stopped a Georgia Tech drive in the final four minutes of the game with the Cardinals clinging to a one-point lead.
- Freshman LB Stanquan Clark was among 18 players making their Louisville debut.
- OL Willie Tyler, OL Eric Miller, QB Jack Plummer, WR Jimmy Calloway, WR Jamari Thrash, WR Kevin Coleman, DL Stephen Herron, LB TJ Quinn, LB Jaylin Alderman, DB Devin Neal, and TE Josh Lifson made their first starts as Cardinals.
