
Taylor, Team USA Qualify for U23 Nation’s League Final

Team USA won five of the single day tournaments during the week in Chile
RANCAGUA, Chile — University of Louisville graduate guard Sydney Taylor and the U23 Team USA 3x3 squad qualified for the Nation's League Final following the team's performance in Rancagua, Chile this past week. Team USA won five of the six single day tournaments in this leg of the Nation's League to qualify for the Finals this coming September.
Taylor played in three of the six days for Team USA and they won each of those three-day tournaments that she participated in. Taylor scored 52 points over the nine games and led the team in scoring in two of those games. She scored a game-high 11 points against Puerto Rico on Day three, her highest single-game point total of the weekend.
In all, the USA women went 15-2 through six days of competition, winning by a combined score of 332-181. Its only two losses came to Venezuela and Puerto Rico by a combined four points. The U.S. had nine wins by 10+ points.
This has been a busy summer for Taylor after she suited up for the Cardinals for the first time earlier this month at the 2023 GLOBL JAM tournament in Toronto. She led the Cards with 13.3 points per game over the four games and was named Tournament MVP after 15 points and four assists in the gold medal game. She hit the game-winning three with 28 seconds left to clinch the gold medal for the Cardinals.
Next up for Team USA will be the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Final which will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from Sept. 13-15.
