Women’s Basketball Prepares for 2023 GLOBL JAM

The Cardinals will open up group play against Team Puerto Rico on Wednesday
TORONTO — The University of Louisville women's basketball team is north of the border as they are getting ready to take part in the 2023 GLOBL JAM in Toronto. The Cardinals are set to face some of the best U-23 teams from a number of different countries over the four-game and five-day event.
For fans looking to watch the game at home, select games will be on TV via CBS Sports Network. The first game broadcast will be Thursday, July 13, against Team Canada at 5:30 p.m. ET. The other game that will be broadcast will be the Gold Medal game on Sunday, July 16, at 5 p.m. ET.
The other two group stage games against Team Puerto Rico (Wednesday, July 12, 11 a.m. ET) and Team Africa (Saturday, July 15, 11 a.m. ET) and the Bronze Medal game will be streamed live on Twitter. Fans can go to the team account, @LouisvilleWBB, and the live broadcast will be pinned at the top of the feed. There will also be an option on GoCards.com to pick up the stream. The Cardinals have four returners from last year's Elite Eight team led by seniors Olivia Cochran and Merissah Russell. Redshirt-sophomore Alexia Mobley and sophomore Nyla Harris also return as the Cardinals reached the Elite Eight for the fifth-straight season last year, the only team in the country to make each of the last five Elite Eights.
Of the newcomers, Eylia Love joined the Cardinals back in January from Georgia Tech and was with the team during the spring semester. Jayda Curry (transfer from Cal), Hennie van Schaik (transfer from CSU-Bakersfield), Kiki Jefferson (grad transfer from James Madison), Nina Rickards (grad transfer from Florida) and Sydney Taylor (grad transfer from UMass) all joined the Cardinals this past spring.
