Louisville Earns No. 4 Seed in ACC Championship

Cards will face fifth-seeded Virginia Tech Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals
The University of Louisville softball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference championship and will open tournament play on Thursday against fifth-seeded Virginia Tech at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame's Melissa Cook Stadium.
The ACC Network and ESPN2 will provide live coverage of the ACC Softball Championship. The first three rounds will air on ACC Network, and ESPN2 will carry the championship game.

The Cardinals enter the tournament with a 35-17 overall record and a 16-7 mark in ACC play. No. 21/22-ranked Virginia Tech brings a 36-17 overall record and a 14-10 mark in ACC play. In their last conference series of the season, the Hokies took two of three games from then-No. 6 Clemson. Â
Virginia Tech owns a 15-8 advantage in the series. The teams last met in the 2022 season, the Hokies swept the three-game series in Blacksburg, Va. Â

The winner of Thursday's quarterfinal game will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of the other quarterfinal game between top-seeded Florida State and either No. 8-seeded Virginia or ninth-seeded Syracuse. The Cavaliers and the Orange will open the tournament Wednesday at 1 p.m.
