Sophomore Korbe Otis earns the weekly honor for the third time this season
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Korbe Otis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Co-Player of the Week as announced on April 11. She shares the honor with Virginia Tech's Kelsey Brown.
Â
This marks the third weekly award of the season for Otis, who also earned the nod on February 28 and March 28.
Â
Otis (Littleton, Colo.) registered an impressive .900 batting average (9-for-10) with a double, a triple and a home run while scoring four runs and driving in three in Louisville's three-game series against Notre Dame. On the weekend she also posted a 1.200 slugging percentage and a .917 on-base percentage.
Â
The centerfielder had at least one hit in each game, extending her reached base streak via a hit or walk to 30 games. She went 4-for-4 with three runs in Louisville's 13-6 loss on Friday, tying a school record for hits in a game. On Saturday, she matched the mark again, this time with two singles, a double and a triple – a home run short of the cycle.
Â
With her triple in Saturday's game, Otis extended her ACC-leading total to six on the season.
Â
The Cardinals (25-12) will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Bloomington, Ind., for a midweek matchup at Indiana University.
