Freshman catcher Sarah Gordon led the Cardinals at the plate with a .750 batting average last week
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Sarah Gordon was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office today. She becomes the second Louisville player to earn the weekly award this season after Korbe Otis earned the honor on Feb. 28.
Â
Gordon led the Cardinals to a 3-1 record, including a series sweep of Pittsburgh last week. The freshman catcher from Lexington, S.C. posted an impressive batting average of .750 (9-for-12) on the week with two home runs, three doubles, two walks, six runs and eight RBIs. She also registered a team-best 1.500 slugging percentage and .786 on-base percentage.

Gordon, who is currently on an eight-game hitting streak, had multiple hits in three of Louisville's four games on the week including a 3-for-3 performance with a home run against Charlotte on Tuesday and a 3-for-4 showing with two doubles and a home run in the 5-4 series-clinching win against Pitt on Friday.
Â
She also produced at least one RBI in each game, with three in each of the final two games of the series against Pitt. On Friday, she registered three RBIs to help the Cards clinch the series with a 5-4 win and on Sunday, she drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run single in the fifth inning as Cardinals completed the sweep of the series.
Â
Gordon leads the team with .444 batting average and has tallied 10 multi-hit games this season.
