Fabien Salle registers the lone singles win for the Cardinals

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 29-ranked University of Louisville men's tennis team lost to No. 58 Miami 4-1 in an ACC match Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Louisville (10-7, 1-4 ACC) will continue its ACC road swing at No. 16 Wake Forest and NC State.

The Hurricanes (10-6, 2-4 ACC) took an early lead with doubles wins on courts two and three.

In singles action, Miami added to its lead with No. 76 Dan Martin's 6-1, 6-2 win over No. 60 Natan Rodrigues at No. 1

No. 50 Fabien Salle put the Cardinals on the scoreboard with his 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win over Martin Katz at the No. 3 spot, making the score 2-1.

On court six, Sergio Hernandez picked up a 6-2 win over Nacho Serra Sanchez, but fell 7-5 and 6-2 in the next two sets as the Hurricanes took a 3-1 lead. The match was decided on court five where Andre' Steinbach rebounded from a 7-5 first set loss to beat Franco Aubone 6-1 to force a third set. The Miami player prevailed 6-2 to make the final score 4-1.

On court two, No. 36 Etienne Donnet was leading 5-4 in the third set and David Mizrahi was trailing 1-0 early in the third set at the No. 4 spot when the match was clinched.
