Â
The game, which started two hours earlier than scheduled due to rain in the forecast, featured three triples and a home run. Junior Paige Geraghty went 2-for-3 with a triple and collected a career-best five RBIs to lead the Cardinals at the plate.
Â
In addition to Geraghty's performance, the Cardinals also had contributions from several other players. Sophomore Easton Lotus wen 2-for-2 with a triple, a run and a stolen base. Junior Vanessa Miller also connected on a triple and scored a pair of runs.
Â
The Cardinals jumped on the scoreboard with two runs in the first inning when sophomore Korbe Otis connected on a two-out single to set up Roby's first homer of the season.
Â
Louisville added two more runs in the second with Miller's triple getting the offense started. Sophomore Ally Alexander's sacrifice fly made the score 3-0 and Lotus tripled home Elana Ornelas who had been hit by a pitch.
Â
The third inning brought Geraghty's three-run triple, a throwing error on the play sent Geraghty home. The Cards completed the scoring in the fifth when Lotus walked, stole second and scored on a groundout by Otis. After a hit by Roby, freshman Madison "Pickle" Winkler earned a walk and Geraghty came through again with a two-run single to make the score 10-0.
Â
Booe (1-0) retired the first 10 batters she faced and had a no-hitter going until the top of the fifth when Alana Mark registered a single up the middle for the Jaguars' lone hit of the game.
