Van Lith Named ACC Player of the Week

She averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.0 steals last week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith was named ACC Player of the Week after her performances in road games against No. 13 Virginia Tech and Florida State. In the two games, Van Lith averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.0 steals and hit a shot with under a minute left to seal the road win over Florida State. She is the second Cardinal to earn Player of the Week honors after Chrislyn Carr earned the honor on Dec. 27.
In the win over the Seminoles, Van Lith scored 20 points, had a career-high eight assists, career-high five steals and added eight rebounds. She is the only player in the NCAA this season to have at least 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals in a game.
The eight assists were tied for the most by an ACC player this past week and the five steals were also tied for most by an ACC player this week. Her 49 combined points were the most by any ACC player this week.
In the game against #13 Virginia Tech, Van Lith tallied 29 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. The 29 points were the second most she has scored in a game in her career. She is the only player in the ACC that has scored 18 points in every conference game this season. In ACC games, she leads the league with 22.6 points per game and is tied for third with 4.7 assists per game.
Van Lith and the Cardinals are back home this week for a pair of games at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals will host Boston College on Thursday, January 19 and No. 20 NC State on Sunday, January 22. Thursday's game against the Eagles will start at 7 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
