Beyond the Buzzer and NIL Host Fourth Annual Employer Luncheon

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Beyond the Buzzer, the University of Louisville athletics student-athlete development program partnered with the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) department to host the fourth annual employer luncheon on August 16, 2022.

The Employer Luncheon hosted more than 30 employers in the Louisville area. Each employer gained in-depth information on how they can contribute to the professional development of University of Louisville athletics. This information included student-athlete careers and NIL engagement. Beyond the Buzzer staff also provided background and next-steps for collaborations with student-athletes through sponsorships and activities.

"We know that creating opportunities like this luncheon can set our student-athletes up for a successful career," said Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Leadership & Development Adora Hicks, PhD. "We simply give them the tools to do that by building relationships in our communities. This luncheon was a great way for employers to really see what our student-athletes are doing, and how we can work together towards a common goal."

This event sets the tone for more successful partnerships between student-athletes and local employers. The next event will take place on October 11, 2022 at UofL's Student-Athlete Career Fair. Companies who interested in attending, please contact Adora Hicks, PhD.
