FOOTBALL: What To Know from Day 9

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football team returned to the practice field on Friday morning for the ninth practice of fall camp. The Cards worked for a little over two hours in shorts and shoulder pads in Cardinal Stadium. Here are some notes from Friday's practice.

The ACC Network was in town to shoot Louisville's practice as part of the Summer Tour of the 14 league school's.
Louisville's practice will air Friday night at 7 p.m. on the network. The crew shot features with Yasir Abdullah and Caleb Chandler, and one with Malik Cunningham.
Defensive line coach Mark Ivey talked about the size of defensive tackle Dezmond Tell, who will be in his second season as a starter. "He's probably 10, maybe 15 pounds heavier but he is moving more quickly, more productively than he was at 280, 285 last year," Ivey said. "So that's a good thing."
Ivey stated that he likes the drive of Tell on the defensive line: "I've said this many times, he came in here from day one - I guess really three years ago now - and he's just going to work. I mean, that's in his DNA and that's what he's all about. He's just going to work."
Tell is competing with Arizona State transfer Jermayne Lole, who came into school this summer. Tell enjoys the added competition at the nose tackle position: "There's no doubt when somebody shows up that, that you know, it'll take every ounce of your energy and your focus and your mental capacity and physical capacity to be able to compete with that person, it changes things," Ivey said. "It makes it a lot more fun. Makes it a lot more interesting. And both been great about their mentality."
Cunningham hit tight end Marshon Ford with a pass on the final drive to end practice on a high note.
Cunningham and Tyler Hudson and Dee Wiggins have developed good chemistry in the passing game.
The Cards rested some of their veterans to prepare for the first major test of the fall on Saturday morning
The Cardinals will conduct their first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.
