Ten Cardinals Earn NFCA Scholar Athlete Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ten University of Louisville softball players have been named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athletes.

The national award recognizes student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA during the 2021-22 academic year.

The Louisville honorees include: Sam Booe, Mia Forsythe, Maddi Grant, Carmyn Greenwood, Cassady Greenwood, Easton Lotus, Elana Ornelas, Korbe Otis, Taylor Roby, Jenna Servi and Kendall Smith.

Overall, the Cardinals posted a collective mark of 3.415 in the 2021-22 academic school year. The spring semester marked the 34th straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher - a streak dating back to the fall of 2005.

The Cardinals also achieved some outstanding individual accomplishments with three Dean's Scholars posting a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, 19 softball student-athletes will be named to the Athletic Director's honor roll after posting a mark of 3.0 or better in the spring semester.
