Roby to Return for 2023 Season
July 13, 2022 | Softball
The University of Louisville's Taylor Roby has announced that she will return to compete for the Cardinals' softball team for the upcoming 2023 season, utilizing an NCAA-granted extra year of eligibility.
Â
Roby looks to continue an already-impressive career as one of Louisville's leaders both in the circle and at the plate. Last season, the Mt. Washington, Ky., native earned her second straight NFCA All-Southeast Region nod after leading the team with 15 home runs, good for third in the ACC and second on Louisville single-season list. She also produced a career-high 45 RBIs, standing second on the team. The right-handed pitcher also collected 15 wins in the circle and delivered 109 strikeouts in 170.1 innings of work.
Â
In 2022, the redshirt senior extended her career home run total to 40, moving into second on the school's all-time list, needed two more to tie the record. She also stands among the Louisville's top 10 in career saves, wins, innings, appearances and games started.
Â
Roby is also a two-time All-ACC honoree with selections in 2021 and 2022.
