Softball Welcomes Paige Geraghty to 2023 Team
June 21, 2022 | Softball
University of Louisville softball coach Holly Aprile has announced that Paige Geraghty will join the Cardinals after two seasons at Auburn.
Â
"Paige is a terrific young woman that we are incredibly excited to coach," said Aprile. "She embodies the 'play hard, be accountable' mentality that is Louisville Softball and we can't wait to see her compete in the Red and Black."Â
Â
Geraghty, an outfielder from Frankfort, Ill., played in 70 games over the last two years for the Tigers, who reached a pair of NCAA regionals during her time there. As a sophomore, she scored 15 runs and added three stolen bases while posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with one assist to help Auburn to a 40-17 mark on the season.
Â
Prior to her time at Auburn, Geraghty was one of the top recruits of the 2020 class, ranked No. 21 by Extra Inning Softball. She turned in a career batting average of .450 while helping Lincoln-Way East High School to a runner-up finish in the state tournament. The two-time all-conference selection was also an all-area and all-state honoree in 2019. She was selected to the PGF Network High School 2020 All-American game and earned all-tournament team honors at the PGF Nationals as her team won the 16U title.

"I chose Louisville, because coach Holly has been to almost every travel ball game I ever played and always believed in me and saw my genuine love for the game."
