LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team will be the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Norman Regional (Norman, Okla.), which will be contested at the Jimmie Austin OU Club on May 16-18.
The Cardinals are appearing in a regional for the fourth consecutive season and the 12th time in school history.
Last season saw the Cardinals make a historic run through the regional and into the NCAA Championship. The Cardinals shot a 4-under-par on the final day of the Noblesville Regional to finish in fourth place and advance to the NCAA golf championships for the fifth time in school history and the first time since 2019.
While at the championship, the Cardinals advanced to the fourth day of competition and finished ninth overall – the best mark in school history.
The Cardinals are led by Jiri Zuska, a four-year performer, who is tops on the team with a 71.18 stroke average and has posted six top-10 finishes, including tying for second at the William Tucker during the fall season. Zuska, an All-ACC performer, will be making his third regional appearance, which included tying for 10th last season at the Noblesville Regional.
Chris Francoeur is second on the team with a 71.87 stroke average, posting two top-1o finishes and five in the top 20, while Max Kennedy has notched a pair of top-20 finishes this year.
The Field: In addition to the Longhorns (No. 7 in the latest GolfStat poll on May 8), the 13-team NCAA Norman Regional field includes: No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 18 Auburn, No. 24 South Carolina, No. 25 Ole Miss, No. 36 Louisville, No. 37 Missouri, No. 48 San Diego State, No. 50 Utah, No. 62 Kent State, No. 64 Kansas State, No. 185 UT Martin and No. 247 Rider.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those five qualifying teams at the Norman Regional will advance to the NCAA Championship, scheduled for May 27-June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. A total of 81 teams and 45 individuals will compete in six NCAA Regional championship sites across the country. Three of the regionals will host 13 teams and 10 individuals, while the other three will feature 14 teams and five individuals apiece.
