Â
All four Louisville boats improved on their preliminary times in the Grand Final. The 3V8 went 6:57.125 to finish fifth.Â
Â
The V4 boat boarded a time of 7:25.809 to finish fifth and crew member Maddy Cicha had this to say, "Louisville Rowing had a truly unforgettable season this year. After strong showings throughout the spring, we are excited to have improved placement at ACC's compared to last year. The greatest growth we have had, though, is within the team. I am so proud of the way we have all come together and had each other's backs this year and I know that's a pride that resonates throughout the team. I can't say how grateful I am to row with my best friends every day and the future feels really bright as a Cardinal."
Â
The 2V8 boat clocked in a 6:51.290 to finish sixth.
Â
"Joy, gratitude and pure hard work are the first things to come to mind when I think of this season and our racing at ACCs," said 2V8 rower Eliza Wack. "This was our best showing at ACCs in my four years and the cornerstones are there to built upon next season. We were adaptable and I can safely say we walked away proud of each other and sad that the weekend was over."
Â
The V8 Boat turned in a time of 6:36.284 to finish sixth and crew member Caitlin Bentley was awarded second team All-ACC honors.
Â
Bentley said, "It's been a great season full of small losses, small wins and even some big wins. The ACC Championships saw us battling it out in the grand finals and although we didn't place where we wanted to, we still achieved some of the goals we set at the beginning of the season. I am proud to see how much this team has grown over the season. I can't wait to see us battle it out next year."
Â
The Cavaliers won the Third Varsity Eight (6:39.820), Varsity Four (7:10.892), Second Varsity Eight (6:26.132) and Varsity Eight (6:23.415). Duke claimed the Second Varsity Four with a time of 7:11.587.Â
