Cards Battle Back to Defeat Florida State 4-3

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team battled back to defeat Florida State 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Louisville improves to 13-5 (5-1 ACC) with the win and remains perfect at home with a 10-0 record. Florida State falls to 11-6 (2-4 ACC) with the loss.
Florida State jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead as the Seminoles won 6-3 on court one and 6-2 on court three.
The Cardinals got on the board when Sergio Hernandez defeated Richard Thongoana 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 4 spot. Natan Rodrigues bested Youcef Rihane 6-2, 6-2 to give Louisville a 2-1 lead. Florida State took the next two singles matches to go up 3-2 and put the pressure on the Cardinals to win the remaining two matches.
Louisville responded when David Mizrahi outlasted John Bernard 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 at the No. 6 spot and Tin Chen rallied to defeat Josh Karpenschif 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the match for the Cardinals.
Up next, Louisville will travel to North Carolina to face the Tar Heels on Friday at 4 p.m.
