Cards Finish 17th at the Darius Rucker

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The University of Louisville women's golf team posted a 15-over 299 in Wednesday's final round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club, putting the Cardinals in 17th place overall.
Appearing in a field that featured four top-10 and 10 top-25 teams, the Cardinals shot 301-305-299=905 facing their second straight difficult field.
Kendall Griffin, who was in the top five after day one, closed the tournament in a tie for 35th place after shooting a 9-over-par 223. She opened the tournament with a 1-under-par 70 and followed with rounds of 74 and 78.
Agustina Gomez-Cisterna was the next highest finisher after placing in a tie for 53rd place after her rounds of 79-76-71=226. She closed the final round with a 71 , which was the team's second-best round of the tournament.
Gabbi Bentancourt tied for 59th after shooting 71-81-75=227 and Carmen Griffiths equaled Bentancourt's total by firing her rounds of 79-75-73=227. Hana Ryskova shot a final round 73 to tie for 68 and Lauren Thibodeau rounded out the top five by finishing in 89th.
The Cardinals return to action at the Liz Murphey in Athens, Ga., on March 25-27.
