Cards Set to Compete at the General Hackler

CONWAY, S.C.– The University of Louisville men's golf team is set to compete at the General Hackler Championship Sunday and Monday, March 13-14, at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The two-day event consists of the first two rounds being played on Sunday, with the final 18 holes completing play on Monday at the par-72, 7,233-yard course.
The event is usually one of the most difficult fields in the nation as 10 of the 15 teams making the trip are ranked among the top-50 teams in the nation. Leading the field is 11-time NCAA National Champion Oklahoma State, who is the second-ranked team in the nation.
Other top-50 ranked teams in the field include Auburn (No. 18), Louisville (No. 33), NC State (No. 34), East Tennessee State (No. 35), North Florida (No, 36), South Carolina (No. 38), Liberty (No. 39), Kent State (No. 46), and Virginia (No. 47).
Rounding out the participating teams are East Carolina, UNCG, UCF, and Penn State.
Head Coach Ryan Blagg has set his lineup for the General Hackler with Jiri Zuska and Chris Francoeur playing as the top two golfers.Zuska posted his third top-five finish of the season after shooting 72-70-70=212 to finish at 4-under-par and 10 shots off the lead at the Watersond.
Zuska carded four birdies during his final round, including birdies on No. 17 and No. 18 to earn another solid finish.
Francoeur posted a top-20 finish after shooting a final round of 71 to end the tournament with a 1-under-par 216. Max Kennedy, Sebastian Moss and Pierce Grieve will be the other three golfers competing this weekend.
The Cardinals will tee off on Sunday at 7:40 a.m. and are paired with NC State and Auburn.
