RV/#15 Cardinals Back at Home to Face SIUE

This will be the final home game in Louisville’s non-conference schedule
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's basketball team is back in action quickly following their game on Sunday against Middle Tennessee. The Cardinals return to the KFC Yum! Center to host SIUE on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET. This will be the first all-time matchup between the two schools and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
It will be the Holiday Toy Drive game on Tuesday and fans are encouraged to bring a new toy still in store packaging to the KFC Yum! Center for donation during the Louisville Women's Basketball game on Tuesday, December 6 vs SIUE and receive a voucher to purchase a discounted $5 ticket for the game against Syracuse on Thursday, December 29. All toys collected will be sent to families displaced by the floods in eastern Kentucky. Toys will be collected at all 3 entrances of the arena.
Tuesday's home matchup is the final home game of the non-conference schedule for the Cardinals. They have a four-game road trip that begins after Tuesday's game and their next home game is not scheduled until Thursday, December 29, against Syracuse. The Cardinals continue to have a lot of success at home over the past six seasons. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Louisville is 79-5 in games played at home and they are 35-1 at home against non-conference opponents during that span.
Hailey Van Lith continues her strong play through the first month of the season for the Cardinals. She collected her second-straight double-double against Middle Tennessee. She scored 12 points and recorded 10 rebounds as she picked up back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in her career. It is also the first time in her career that she recorded 10 or more rebounds in two-straight games. She leads the team with 19.9 points per game, a mark that is second in the ACC and 27th nationally. Her three double-doubles also leads the team and is third among guards in the ACC.

They are coming off a 13-18 campaign and were 8-10 in OVC play last year in head coach Samantha Quigley-Smith's first year at the helm. Guard Niya Danfort leads the Cougars with 11.3 points per game and is second on the squad with 4.7 rebounds per game. Forward Ajulu Thatha is the team's leading rebounder with 6.5 per game. She also leads the Cougars in steals per game (1.0) and blocks per game (0.7). The Cougars do have a Louisville connection with senior Mikayla Kinnard. She is from Louisville and played high school ball at Eastern High School. She finished her high school career as the program's all-time leading scorer.
Series History - This will be the first ever matchup between Louisville and SIUE on Tuesday night. It is the second opponent the Cardinals will face for the first time this season after playing Longwood on Nov. 25. Louisville is all-time 45-13 against teams currently in the Ohio Valley. It is the ninth-straight season the Cards will go up against a current member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
