The Jaguars are one of a potential nine NCAA Tournament teams Louisville will face in non-conference play
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coming off the 87-68 season-opening win over Cincinnati, the Cardinals are back in action on Thursday as they host IUPUI at the KFC Yum! Center. Thursday's contest will close out a quick two-game homestand before the Cardinals have their next four games away from home.
The Cardinals are hosting the Kroger Food Drive, benefiting the Commonwealth Credit Union Cardinal Cupboard on UofL's campus, Thursday night against IUPUI. Fans that bring non-perishable food items to the arena on Friday will receive the chance to purchase a discounted $5 ticket for the game against Longwood on November 25.
After gaining several preseason recognitions, junior guard Hailey Van Lith led the Cardinals in their win over the Bearcats on Monday. She led the team with 28 points on 12-of-20 shooting, her 12th 20-plus point scoring game of her career. The 28 points were the fourth-most in program history in a season opener and the second most by an ACC player in their season-opening game.
Graduate guard Mykasa Robinson also made her presence felt against Cincinnati as she filled the stat sheet with five points, six rebounds, three assists and tied a career-high with five steals. A number of Cardinals made their debuts against the Bearcats including graduates Morgan Jones, Chrislyn Carr, Josie Williams and freshman Nyla Harris. Jones was one of three Cardinals in double figures with 14 points and added four rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists.

ABOUT THE JAGUARS
The Jaguars are the first of a potential nine NCAA tournament teams the Cardinals will face off against during the non-conference portion of their season. Last year, IUPUI won the Horizon League regular season and tournament championship after finishing the season with a 24-5 overall record and 18-2 in Horizon League play. The Jaguars were a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament and battled No. 4 seed Oklahoma in the first round before falling 78-72 in Norman. The Jaguars fell in their season opener to UIC, 52-50, this past Monday. Transfer forward Jazmyn Turner led the way for IUPUI with 20 points and eight rebounds, both team high figures.
Series History - The Cardinals will face off with the Jaguars for the seventh time in program history when the two teams meet on Thursday at the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville is 6-0 all-time against IUPUI and they are 4-0 in games played in Louisville.
Last Meeting (Dec. 13, 2015) - Head coach Jeff Walz has been preaching defense to his team all season long. Sunday's message was received clearly at halftime. The Cardinals (4-5) swarmed IUPUI in the second half, limiting the Jaguars to just 8-of-21 from the floor, and overcame a double-digit halftime deficit for a 70-61 victory at the KFC Yum! Center. Briahanna Jackson scored 21 of her game-high 23 points to go with five rebounds and two steals. The redshirt junior, who has produced three games with at least 20 points this year, was clutch down the stretch, scoring eight of the Cardinals' 10 points over the final two minutes of regulation. The win was the start of a 15-game winning streak for the Cardinals that season.
