
2022-23 Track and Field Schedule Released

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track and field head coach Dale Cowper has announced the 2022-23 schedule for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Louisville will open the indoor season with three straight home meets, all taking place at the Norton Sports & Learning Complex. The Commonwealth College Opener will be the first event of the season for the Cardinals, with the meet being contested on Dec. 3. The Cardinals will then begin the new year with the Cardinal Classic on Jan. 13-14 and the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 27-28.
The teams will hit the road for Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Feb. 2-4, before sending teams to either Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. or Clemson's Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C. on Feb. 10-11. The Cardinals will then head back up to South Bend, Ind. for the final regular season meet of the year, the Alex Wilson Invitational on Feb. 18.
Postseason competition will begin with the ACC Indoor Championships from Feb. 23-25 in Louisville. The meet will mark the first time in school history that the Cardinals will host an ACC Championship track and field event. The ACC Championships will give the opportunity for athletes to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships which will be held in Albuquerque, N.M. on March 10-11.
The outdoor season opens with ACC rival Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational on March 17-18. The team will then split for the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. over the weekend of March 31-Apr. 1. The squad will then travel to Oxford, Miss. for Ole Miss's Joe Walker Invitational on Apr. 7-8.
The Cardinals will then return home to Cardinal Park for two of the next three meets, beginning with the newly rechristened Jim Freeman Louisville Invitational on Apr. 14-15. The Indiana Invitational will follow on Apr. 21-22 in Bloomington, Ind., with the regular season concluding at the Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville on Apr. 28-29.
The outdoor postseason begins with the ACC Outdoor Championships on May 11-13 in Raleigh, N.C. The Cardinals will then close out the season at the NCAA Outdoor Preliminaries on May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Fla., with qualifying individuals advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
