Cards Add Duggal and Lokko to 2023 Signing Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva has announced that Evan Duggal and Russell Lokko will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2023.

"We are excited to welcome Evan and Russell to our program and we look forward to working with them in the fall," said da Silva.

Evan Duggal
Hometown: Lexington, Ky.
High School: Henry Clay High School
Evan Duggal comes to Louisville from Lexington, Ky., where he plays for Henry Clay High School. The two-time all-state honoree is currently the No.2 ranked player in the state and ranked among the top 100 players in the nation heading into his senior season.

In 2022, Duggal won the city championship and picked up his second-straight Region 11 title in both singles and doubles. He was also the singles runner-up in the 2022 Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Tennis Championships.

As a sophomore, Duggal was a city finalist and a state quarterfinalist after winning the Region 11 title in singles and doubles.

In USTA play, he won the 2021 Kentucky Clay Court Open Championships in singles and doubles. Additionally, he reached the doubles quarterfinals of the 2022 USTA Georgia Bowl and won the OVTA Boys' 18 singles title in 2021.

He is also an academic all-state honoree.

Russell Lokko
Hometown: Overland Park, Kan.
High School: St. Thomas Aquinas High School

Russell Lokko joins the Cardinals from Overland Park, Kansas where he plays for St. Thomas Aquinas High School and is the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Kansas.

Through his sophomore and junior seasons has compiled a 50-1 singles record, including a perfect 23-0 mark in 2022 while winning back-to-back Kansas 5A Tennis Singles Championships.

He has been ranked among the top 100 in the USTA U18 reaching as high as No. 76 and also stands at No. 82 in the Tennis Recruiting Network's recruiting list. In USTA U18 play, he has tallied a pair of semifinals and one singles final while reaching the doubles finals twice, semifinals three times and quarterfinals four times in 2022.
