Cardinal Forever Federico Gomez Opens 2022 at Buenos Aires Challenger

Former University of Louisville men's tennis standout Federico Gomez recently opened 2022 competition by advancing to the second round of the Buenos Aires Challenger which began on January 2, 2022.
Gomez, who graduated in 2019, opened the clay court event with a pair of straight set wins in the qualification draw starting with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sean Hess followed by a 6-4, 6-3 decision against Wilson Leite. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native advanced to the main draw where he defeated Jose Fco Vidal Azorin 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5.
