ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team defeated Tulane 4-0 in the consolation match of the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kickoff Weekend at the USTA National Campus on Monday.

"I'm so proud of how the guys bounce back after a tough loss yesterday," said UofL head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "They showed a lot character and perseverance. We will get back to work on Wednesday to get ready for another tough match this weekend."

Louisville (3-3) will face Middle Tennessee State on the road at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Alex Wesbrooks and Matthew Fung earned the first doubles win of match for the Cardinals, defeating Fynn Kuenkler and Luc Hoeijmans 6-0. Tulane won on court 3 but Etienne Donnet and Natan Rodrigues secured the first point of the match for Louisville, defeating Charlie Barry and Benji Jacobson in a tiebreaker 7-6 (6).

In singles, Sergio Hernandez defeated Barry 6-1, 6-1 to put Louisville up 2-0 in the match. Rodrigues followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rafael de Alba. David Mizrahi closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-4 decision against Luka Petrovic to secure the 4-0 victory.
