Cardinals Open Spring Season Against Kentucky

NAPLES, Fla. – After a successful fall campaign, the University of Louisville women's golf team resumes its 2021-22 season on Tuesday against Kentucky to begin the 2022 spring season.
Maired Martin will face Marissa Wenzler in the first match of the day while Hana Ryskova tees off versus Rikke Svejgard Nielsen. Carmen Griffiths will oppose Maria Villanueva Aperribay and Lauren Thibodeau squares off against Laney Frye.
Agustina Cisterna-Gomez meets Jensen Castle, while Molly Lyne plays Marta Lopez Echevarria. Carly Haines meets Ryan Bender and Gabbi Bentancourt will face Sara Fite in the final match. This will be the first Battle of the Bluegrass since the 2018-19 season. Louisville won that February 2019 showdown 4-1. The Cardinals enter the spring ranked No. 32. UK and UofL appeared in the same event twice in the fall. They closed the fall with a pair of tournament wins, ending the fall with a victory at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate. It was their first consecutive wins since the 2017 season.
The Cardinals and Wildcats will compete in match play at Club Pelican Bay in Naples, Florida.
The match will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
