
No. 6 Louisville Seeks ACC Title at Notre Dame on Sunday

The Cardinals and Fighting Irish will tip off at 3 p.m. E.T. on ESPN and 790-AM WKRD.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball plays at Notre Dame (10-8, 8-6) on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on ESPN and 790-AM WKRD.

With a win on Sunday, No. 6 Louisville (20-2, 13-2) will clinch its fourth straight Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title and its second straight outright title. It will also mark the ninth conference title in program history. Prior to this stretch, Louisville had never won consecutive regular season conference titles.

UofL is 58-7 (.892) in ACC regular season games over the last four seasons. They are 30-4 (.882) in home games and 28-3 (.903) in road games. The Cardinals are 64-9 (.877) in ACC regular season and tournament games combined.

Dana Evans, the Cardinals' lone senior, enters Sunday's game with a career record of 116-13 (.899). With just one regular season game remaining, she is guaranteed to conclude her career at UofL with the fewest losses and best winning percentage in program history. With a win at Notre Dame, she will be the only player in program history to claim four regular season conference championships.

Evans leads the ACC with 20.8 points per game and ranks sixth with 4.3 assists per game. She leads the ACC and ranks second in the country with a 94.6 free throw percentage. She is 70-74 from the line on the season and 50-51 from the stripe in ACC play. She made 43 consecutive free throws from 12/6-2/7 prior to going 5-6 against Notre Dame.

Olivia Cochran had 12 points and nine rebounds at Florida State last Sunday. She has scored in double figures in 13 of 21 games and five times has double-digit rebounds. She is shooting 59.6 percent from the floor, which would rank second in the ACC, but her 4.4 field goals per game are just short of the qualifying mark.

Her 11.2 points per game rank fourth among ACC freshmen, while her 6.8 rebounds per game rank third. She ranks second among ACC freshmen in free throw makes and attempts, shooting 48-64 (.750) from the stripe.

The player of the year candidate scored 16 of her points in the first half to help the Cards take a 42-34 lead at the break. A 3-pointer by Dara Mabrey cut the UofL lead to 66-65 with 1:41 left. Evans, though, responded with a 3 of her own with 57 seconds remaining. She then iced the game with a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left. Kianna Smith added 16 and a career-high five steals. Elizabeth Balogun finished with 12 points. Mykasa Robinson played 32 minutes and finished with five points, eight rebounds and four assists.
